I was born a baby boomer in New Castle, PA on July 31, 1946. I was a graduate of New Castle High School in 1964 and Youngstown
State University in 1969 with a major in Education and minors in Philosophy and Psychology. Went back to YSU for post-grad.
Started out in Guidance and Counseling and hated it. Ended up with masters equivalent taking fun stuff like Archeology, Anthropology
and Astronomy.
I married my wife (and keeper), Mary Lou Finamore on September 27, 1969. Hard to believe that
was 39+ years ago!
My first teaching job was at Northwestern Jr. High in Springfield, OH teaching P.E., Health
and coaching basketball (1969 and 1970). In 1971 I returned to New Castle and started a 31 year career at Union Area Schools.
Our first son, Graham was born in Springfield in 1970. He is currently a computer engineer working in Tokyo,
Japan. He graduated from Union and Carnegie Mellon University (Physics and Engineering). Graham married Noriko Okuma of Tokyo
in 2006.
Number two son, Brian, was born in 1973 in New Castle during a Super Bowl game. Should have known
he would be a football player. He graduated from Union and Pitt University (Biology). Received a Teaching degree from Westminster
College, and later a Law Degree from Duquesne University.
Youngest son, Cary, was born in 1982 in New Castle.
Graduated from Union and Pitt University (Film Studies). Currently he is employed with Apple Computer
in Santa Clara, California in reserch and depelopment, primarlily with the IPOD.

What a job!
I love my job! That's 'cause I'm retired! I was a teacher (computers, gifted, Phys. Ed., Health and Environment) for 33 years.
Two years in Springfield, OH and 31 at Union Area in New Castle. I also was a coach for many years (basketball mostly, also
cross-country, track and baseball).
I've been playing in bands just about every weekend for about 40 years. My first gig was filling in with the "Corvettes"
at age 13 in 1959. Believe it or not I played trumpet. "My first band was "Gary and the Imperials". Actually
it was a singing group with a two piece band backing up three singers. I think I was about 14. After that it was "Joey
and the Bell-airs" at 17, "The Fabulous Incrowd" at 19, "The Hi-Boys" briefly at 21, "The Graduates"
from about 1967-1995! Then it was "Silhouettes", "Legacy," "Hot Item," "Blue-Eyed Soul"
which evolved into "Smarty Pants," and Finally "Manhattan" since 2001. In retrospect, I have played at
least one gig in six different decades and have a shot at 7 if I'm still gigging two years from now.
